TWO VERY PRACTICAL CPD DAYS
CREATING MOVEMENT POSSIBILITIES
LIVE ONLINE | 22 MAY & 26 JUN | £220
Chairs have seen an upsurge of acceptance and use in all sorts of practice settings. They can be used thoughtfully for every body and every nuance of mobility. We've put together two very practical CPD days where we will additionally reflect on the somatic and proprioceptive experience of the body and its kinesphere when situated in a chair.
On Day 1 we will focus on being able to move in/out of a chair independently, and on Day 2 on being able to move independently in a chair, with and without wheels.
Update your use of chairs in regular and specialist class settings.
Explore a somatic approach to adapting practices for the body and its kinesphere.
Consider chair management in a variety of class settings.
Reflect on specific experiences of wheelchair enabled bodies.
While these are stand-alone study days for teachers, they can form part of your elective content on our 300H teacher training programme.
The course runs over two Sundays, live online via Zoom. You can book each day separately.
DAY 1 MOVING WITH THE CHAIR
A fresh look at chair-based practices that focus on being able to move in and out of a chair independently, and being able to move the chair into different places. You will reflect on the somatic experience of the body and its kinesphere and spend time considering matters of accessibility in a variety of yoga class settings.
DAY 2 MOVING IN THE CHAIR
Thoughtful consideration to pracitces that are adaptive to being able to move independently in a chair (with and without wheels). With specialist input from our Guest Tutor. There will again be time to reflect on the somatic experience of body and kinesphere.
