COURSE CONTENT
This course is designed for teachers with an existing 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training certificate or equivalent and have gained practical experience in facilitating yoga classes.
DAY 1 CONSENT & CHOICE

Seeking consensus on the scope of practice for yoga teachers; what are we trained/not trained to do or be?

Defining the framework of teacher/student relationships and primary considerations for how we as teachers 'contract' with our students

Understanding inclusivity and consent as a practice rather than a preliminary to teaching

Exploring how to make more informed choices about our relationships to commercial entities, yoga-related bureaucracies, and marginalised populations
DAY 2 EMBODIED RELATIONAL DYNAMICS

Exploring the concept of embodiment as a process of perceiving and evaluating our own physical sensations

Discovering ways to remain connected to our own embodied experience in relation to others in teacher/student settings

Unpicking the experiences of transference and counter-transference

Uncovering our privileges to better participate in non-violent communication and creative collaboration
DAY 3 THE LITERACY OF TOUCH

Exploring the concept of boundaries and communication through the somatic experience of our own cellular anatomy

Making time for witnessing consciousness and the skills of “holding space” whilst managing judgement and bias

Defining touch not only through touch but also through presence, observation, voice and language

Practicing and evaluating consent scenarios and dialogues
DATES & VENUE
The training will be held from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th April 2020 between 10.30am and 5.30pm at The ARC Centre in London.
The centre is easily accessible with good transport routes as well as accommodation options for those that need them. Mats and props are provided.
Free tea is included on all training days!

Fabiano is a Somatic Movement Therapist and Integrative Bodyworker. His expertise lies in somatics and pedagogy.
ASHLEY MACDONALD
Ashley is a Senior Tutor on the Barefoot Body faculty with expertise in trauma sensitivity, somatics and pedagogy.
BEVERLEY NOLAN
Founder of Barefoot Body, Beverley specialises in embodied anatomy, somatic psychology and professional practice.

Full course fees are £440 with payment plans to help spread the cost. If you are registered on our 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training & Enrichment Programme, this forms part of your required study within the Core Modules. Bursary applications welcome.

Books from the required reading list (although we do our best to locate free online resources; £40 fee for installment payment plans; travel, accommodation, and catering/subsistence costs; costs associated with access to a computer, internet connectivity, email account, printer, stationery, and camera for video assignment (contact us for Learning Support).
REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS

Your deposit is non-refundable in all circumstances. We will only refund a whole training fee for fees paid in full prior to the date 8 weeks before your course start date, minus your deposit. No refunds will be offered on training fees on cancellations after this date. Fees are non-transferable to another training or course
