THE ORIGINS OF MOVEMENT
A 5 DAY IMMERSION
EXPLORE DEVELOPMENTAL MOVEMENT & PRIMITIVE REFLEXES
Revisiting the journey of our early movement development reveals the origins of some of our adult movement, body organisation, and postural motifs. It also unfolds our journey of becoming an active participant in the world around us, from bonding and finding our sense of ground to reaching out with curiosity and feeling, and discovering our potential for boundary setting.
This immersion, however, is a professional exploration as well as a personal one. Theory and practical content includes: navel radiation as the underlying pattern for movement organisation; mouthing and spinal patterns (push patterns and reach and pull patterns); homologous, homolateral and contralateral patterns. Associated primitive reflexes will unpack the patterns further.
