EXPERIENTIAL ANATOMY
THE ORGAN SYSTEMS
FIND INNER SUPPORT FOR YOUR BONES AND MUSCLES
Experiential anatomy, or embodied anatomy, is an approach that takes the study of anatomy of the page and into your felt-experience. Build on your understanding of the musculo-skeletal system as the container of the body with familiarity of the organ systems as content for support and movement. Systems covered: Heart & Lungs, Digestive Tract, and Kidneys & Bladder.
From visual cues we will locate the systems through movement and self-tracing, and make connections to skeletal landmarks. Then we'll explore our findings in familiar yoga shapes and sequences.
-
Tune into the volume of your lungs and heart as support for your ribs and arms.
-
Discover the organic support of the kidney/bladder connection for psoas ease.
-
Apply organ support into your yoga and movement practice.
-
Find ways to articulate your experiences as teaching pointers.
The course is accredited as a CPD with Yoga Alliance. It can be taken as a stand-alone CPD and it also forms part of our 300H teacher training programme.
