Let's understand what's going on in the body during yoganidra and regular sleep , as well as differentiate it from NSDR (Non-Sleep Deep Rest). Let's also take into consideration accessibility matters and trauma-informed techniques so that you will be able to confidently create your own scripts and carefully hold space for the practice. ACCREDITED with Yoga Alliance as 15 hours of Continuing Professional Education (CPD). * Understand and differentiate the physiological responses to deep relaxation, meditation and sleep * Discover the history and yogic principles underpinning the practice * Get familiar with matters of trauma-awareness and how they are applied to yoga nidra * Clarify the possible intentions for the practice of yoga nidra * Learn the teaching techniques to structure, script and deliver a trauma-informed yoga nidra session COURSE CONTENT Unit 1 - ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY A focus on the neuroscience of relaxation and sleep and how it relates to the practice of Yoganidra; with reference to NSDR - Non-Sleep Deep Rest. Unit 2 - SUBTLE ANATOMY The Kosha/Panca Maya model will be explored theoretically and in embodied explorations. Unit 3 - HISTORY & PHILOSOPHY The philosophical underpinnings of the practice of Yoganidra, its history and contemporary threads. Unit 4 - PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE How to craft a script and deliver a trauma-aware practice. Teaching techniques and methodologies. DATES & VENUE The course will take place over ZOOM from Friday evening 25 October to Sunday lunchtime 27 October 2024 COURSE REQUIREMENTS You will need to have a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training certificate or similar. There are approximately 2-3 hours of pre-course reading and practice. If you would like a CPD completion certificate, we will ask you to submit a recorded yoga nidra practice that you have scripted yourself
